FinMin: no excise hike on cigarettes and alcohol

Poland’s Finance Minister Mateusz Szczurek has said that the government is not planning to raise excise on cigarettes and alcohol in the foreseeable future.

“We have raised the minima in terms of tax on tobacco,” Szczurek told Polish Radio, Wednesday morning, adding that “there hasn’t been a hike this year and I don’t think there’ll be one in 2016”.

“Excise tax policy on stimulants follows on from inflation, yet […] this year there is no inflation in Poland,” Szczurek underlined.
